Individual psychology consultation — $250 per 50-minute appointment.
Telehealth appointments
Tyson currently offers individual psychology appointments via telehealth for adults across Australia.
Sessions are available by secure video or telephone. Select the appropriate service when booking. Information about accessing your appointment will be provided in your confirmation email.
Booking
Book a consultation or introductory call through the online booking system.
The introductory call is free and lasts 15 minutes. It’s a chance to discuss whether the service suits your needs and ask practical questions. Select “Free 15-minute introductory call” in the booking portal.
Fees
If you are eligible for Medicare and have a valid Better Access referral, the current rebate for an eligible 50-minute consultation is $101.55. With a $250 fee, the usual out-of-pocket cost is $148.45.
Medicare and referrals
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist privately. A referral is required if you wish to access a Medicare rebate or if another funding arrangement requires one.
Eligible clients may be able to receive Medicare rebates through Better Access for up to 10 individual mental health treatment services per calendar year. Please provide your referral before your first appointment if you intend to claim a rebate.

Private health insurance
Some private health insurance extras policies cover psychology consultations. Coverage and rebate amounts vary, so please check directly with your health fund before your appointment.
Cancellations and changes
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.
Cancellations or changes with less than 24 hours’ notice incur a fee of 50% of the consultation fee.
Reports, letters and other work
TRSPsychology provides psychological therapy. Appointments are not offered solely for assessment or to obtain legal or funding reports.
Letters or other documents related to your therapy may be available, depending on the request. Any additional fee will be discussed before work begins.
Face-to-face appointments
Face-to-face appointments are coming soon. Further information about location, availability and booking will be added once these appointments become available.
EMDR is provided face-to-face only and is not offered via telehealth.
